THE BENEFITS OF ADHD COACHING FOR FAMILIES
How ADHD Family Coaching helps
While these challenges may seem daunting, ADHD Family Coaching equips families with practical tools and strategies to navigate them. Coaching can improve communication and reduce conflict, and it also teaches families how to adapt their environment and routines for success. For example:
- Improving communication: Families learn strategies for active listening and clearer expression of needs, reducing misunderstandings
- Managing time: Parents and children work together to create visual schedules, reminders or timers to stay on track
- Reducing conflict: Families are taught specific de-escalation techniques to handle meltdowns or disagreements calmly
- Fostering self-esteem: Children and teens learn how to reframe negative self-talk and set realistic goals for success
- Improving emotional self-regulation and self-restraint
- Better motivation: Family members learn what consistently activates the ADHD person’s brain and what can lead to daily success
- Creating the right environment: Families discover how to create an ADHD-friendly environment where everyone can thrive, strengthening family bonds and improving the well-being of the whole family

THE PROCESS
How ADHD Family Coaching works
Assessment

Goal setting
Families work with me to set clear goals, like improving communication, reducing conflict or managing behaviour.

These regular, usually weekly, sessions provide a safe and supportive space for families to explore challenges, learn new skills and practise strategies. Sessions can be in-person or virtual, depending on the family’s needs
Skill building and ADHD education
Families receive tailored guidance and tools based on their unique situation, whether that involves helping a child with school routines, motivation or emotional regulation, or assisting parents in managing their own ADHD.
